Family Pictures

Mom has been telling Barbara and I for awhile now that she wanted family pictures taken so we set up an appointment at Portrait Innovations on Sunday to get them taken. Barbara and Wes got to our house about 15 minutes before we needed to leave for the pictures so it was pretty hectic getting everybody ready but once we got there everything went great. Aubrey was the only one that gave us any problems and even those were pretty minnor considering everything that could have happened with 2 two year olds and an 8 month old.

After we got back to the house Aubrey and Emma played in the pool for a little bit then we ate and Barbara, Wes and the kids headed back home. We had just set up the pool on Sunday so the water was really cold. The kids did not seam to mind while they were playing but we ended up putting them in the tub with some warm water afterwards because they were so cold.

New Flooring

Mom, Dad and Vince took off work on Thursday and Friday and helped us put new flooring in the majority of our house. We had a water leak the begining of the year and part of the carpeting had to be ripped up to fix the leak. Therefore we needed to replace the carpeting and figured that while we were at it we would replace the flooring in the kitchen and front entry way as well. I do not think that we could have getten it done without Vince's help. With my back bothering me and dad's mobility problems Vince and Drew ended up doing most of the work.

Here are some pictures of our new flooring.

There is still some painting work that needs to be done and we need to move a little bit more furniture but at least the flooring itself is in.

Back Pain and Tired

My lower back started to bother me about a month ago and I did not think much about it at first but the pain kept getting worse. For the last 2 weeks I have been going to the chiropractor several times a week trying to get the problem to go away and while it is quite a bit better then it was it is definitely not healed yet. The mornings are the worst. I do not think that a doctor could really do much about it except give me some pain medicine and take some x-rays or an MRI so I have really hesitated to go. I'm really hopefully that the pain goes away soon though otherwise I'm going to have to try something else.

Two weeks ago we made a trip to Jasper for a visit and Vince and Linda had a little get together while we were down there. It was nice being able to catch up with those that we do not get to see very often and Emma had a lot of fun playing with the other kids.

Two Friday's ago I picked Emma up at the babysitter and then went home to make supper. When I went to check on her I found her fast asleep on the couch. Apparently she had spent a hard day playing. Drew tried to wake her up for supper and she did not want anything to do with that. Finally he was able to get her to wake up but we both thought is was funny that she decided to take a nap on the couch.

Wednesday we decided to go out to Applebees to eat supper and they were having a kids day where they had a balloon artist come in. The artist asked Emma what her favorite color is and Emma told her ELMO. This is what she ended up getting from the balloon artist. It did not make it though the night before she popped it.

Catching Up

Sorry that I have not posted anything in a couple of weeks. For the most part not much has really been going on. Anyway here is a quick run down of our lives the last couple of weeks.

The week before Easter we were in Jasper for dad's tulip parties. It was really nice being able to get together with family and friends.

We celebrated Barbara's 30th Birthday on Sunday with the Hartings Family.

Easter weekend Mom and dad came up to visit us because Drew had to work. Saturday was our community yard sale so they helped me with that while they were up here and we got some things out of our house that we are no longer using. On Sunday between rain showers we went to the White River Gardens next to the Zoo and looked at their tulip display.

Emma received some PJ's, a book and a coloring dog for Easter. You can use the washable crayons on the dog and then when you are done just take a damp cloth and wipe it back off.

Friday a sinus cold ended up setting in so I have not been felling very well. Drew did his best to take care of Emma so that I could rest. We did get quite a few errands run Friday and Saturday which was good. We went shopping for new cloths, got rid of some books left over from the yard sale, and picked up a new cover for the grill. Last night I ordered the new flooring for our house. I would truly hope that it will get here before Memorial Day. Sunday we went to the Children's Museum for a little bit.
