Crawling and Spitting up

Last week Emma started Army Crawling and she is getting better and better every day. It amazes Drew and I how well she can get around any more. I do not think there is any place that is truly off limits to her if she puts her mind to it. She is also trying to walk if we hold her up. Before we know it and definitely before we are ready for it she will be walking on her own. I had taken a video of her crawling but for some reason it will not upload. I guess I will have to take another one and try again some time.

As for an update on her spitting up since we started taking her to the Chiropractor, she is still spitting up quite a bit especially during the day so I'm not sure if it has helped any yet. She has only gone twice so far though so we will keep taking her and hopefully she will get better soon. On the up side most evenings she is doing really well. The last couple weeks there have only been one or two evenings where she has spit up at all. That is a really nice change because we can play with her more without constantly having a burp cloth right next to us. For now I will take what I get and at least I'm not the one that has to deal with her spitting up most days. The babysitter gets that pleasure =)

Thankfully this week has been pretty uneventfully. Drew switched to nights last night and that will take some adjusting for both of us. It is going to be harder to get things done around the house during the day because he will want to sleep. Also we will not be able to visit with our parents quite as much probably because Drew will have to work every other weekend unless he specifically asks off.

New shoes and these actually stay on her. I want her to get used to wearing shoes that way she does not have a problem with it come winter when she will need to have them on.

Playing with her ball. She is just as good moving things around with her feet as she is with her hands.

Her favorite thing to play with anymore seams to be our faces. Drew's glasses!!!

What a big girl

Not much has been going on around our house this week. Our days consist of working and our nights consist of playing with Emma. It is really hard to believe that it has already been six and a half months since she was born and she is changing so much. Emma definitely has the rolling around down pat now and she can sit up without a problem until she gets distracted. As for teeth there is no evidence that they are coming though yet. I guess she will be like cousin Aubrey and take awhile to get them.

When I went shopping last weekend I bought Emma a new car seat because she is just getting to heavy to be in the baby car seat. Also her Chiropractor suggested that we take her out of it if possible. He called those car seats a necessary evil because the position that they put the baby in causes their backs to lock up and this can cause the spitting up. We are going to try and install the new seat in my car this weekend and see if that along with the continued visits to the Chiropractor help her any.

Also last weekend we changed Emma's feeding schedule so that she is only eating 4 time a day instead of 5. This was more for my convenience then anything. Before I needed to be home from work by 5p.m. so that I could feed her which made it kind of hard to make up any time if I needed to. Now she is eating around 6:30 which makes things a lot nicer. It will also make it easier for us to travel to Jasper because it was hard taking a 3 hour trip when she was wanting to eat every 3 - 3 1/2 hours. Currently she is eating cereal in the morning and then 2 4oz jars of baby food though out the day along with her milk.

Other things that have been going on are that Emma has really started to get into the crawling position and trying to move around that way, and she has found a new sleeping position. It is really cute to watch her try and crawl around. We will really be in trouble when she gets that figured out. As for her sleeping she had been sleeping on her side but she has now started to sleep on her belly and normally moves into one of the corners. We have been keeping the waterproof pad on top of her sheets so that if she spits up or goes though her diaper I did not have to completely change out the sheets. That is going to have to change now though because she is getting ahold of it and pulling it up so that it does not do much good.

Drew has his certification test on Monday morning so please keep your fingers crossed that he passes it the first time around.

Professional Pictures

We took Emma to JCPenny today to have her pictures taken. She did really well and thankfully did not spit up on her dress. She did however spit up on her second outfit. Anyway here are some of the pictures.

Baptism, 6 Months and Trouble

Emma was 6 months old on Saturday and she had her 6 months check up yesterday. She is now 15lbs 9.4 oz and 26 1/4 in long or somewhere in that range. She would not hold still long enough to get a truly accurate read of her weight or height. Also Emma had a Chiropractor Appointment yesterday to see if it would help with her spitting up. She did really well at the appointment and did not make anything of the Chiropractor adjusting her. I cannot say that the adjustment helped any so far but she has another one next week so hopefully after a couple it will help. As for the trouble part she has figured out that she can get places by rolling and she is showing us more and more every day. Last night Drew was sitting on the couch and Emma was on the floor. Drew said the next thing he knew Emma was over by his feet trying to chew on his shoes. Emma is also trying to sit up on her own when she is on the floor or on her changing table. I guess here before to long we are going to have to start putting the railing on her bed up just to be on the safe side. No teeth yet but I'm sure they will probably be here soon.

Here are a couple of pictures from getting the girls baptised. I guess we did not actually get any of Drew and I with Emma.

Eating Drew's shoe string

Trying her best to sit up on her own

Emma was in the middle of the mat when I laid her down. It did not take her long to get this far away from it.

Sitting up in her highchair for the first time.

Playing with Daddy's Credit Card. Only 6 Months old and she likes the credit card already. We're in trouble.

6 Month pictures. I know it is a little blurry around her hands and feet but how do you get a good picture when she is constantly on the move.

Weekend Home and another new toy

Last weekend we went home to have the girls baptized. I do not have any pictures of the girls getting baptized because mom used Barbara's camera and she has mailed me a CD of them so I will have to wait until I get the CD to post any pictures. Both girls did really good at the baptism considering their ages. Emma wanted to but everything that she could get her hands on in her mouth and Aubrey just wanted down to play. After the girls were baptized we went back to mom and dad's house for lunch and then it was time to head back to Indy.

Tuesday we had a lot of rain during the day but thankfully did not have the flooding that Barb had to deal with in Louisville. Also on Tuesday we went to the store for some groceries. While we were there Drew decided that Emma needed a ball to play with now that she can sit up. We gave her the ball and she played with it the entire time we were there.

Not much else has been going on. I started going back to the Chiropractor this week because I've been having quite a bit of pain in my lower back. Thankfully after 2 visits to the chiropractor it is starting to feel better. Hopefully after another couple of visits it will not be bothering me anymore. Once we get Drew's insurance cards he wants me to make an appointment for him to go to a chiropractor as well. Also we are going to take Emma to see if it will help with her spitting up any. Right now she basicly spits up from one feeding to the next.
