What a week

Lots of things have been going on since I last posted. Drew’s mom, Linda, was in a car accident last Monday. She was coming home from work when some guy ran a red light and hit her. Her van flipped over on its side and spun some and then somehow flipped upright again. Thankfully Linda was not seriously injured. She is very sore and has taken off of work yet this week so that she can recover some more.

Then on Tuesday evening Drew received a call from his dad saying that his Grandma Schroering had taken a turn for the worst. She passed away Thursday afternoon. Bernadette was 89 years old and had 12 children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her viewing was on Sunday and the funeral was Monday so we were in Jasper for that. We headed to Jasper on Saturday morning after Emma ate and we stayed until a little after 3pm on Monday. It was nice being able to see the Schroering family however needless to say this is not why we wanted to see them all again. Emma was a great comfort to everybody and she handled the change of schedule with ease.

On a positive note Emma is now 3 months old and is doing great. While she has not gone though the stage of just staring at her hands she is definitely figuring out what they are for. She loves to play with her bib, burp cloth, and cloths and will even hold on to some toys and grab for things every once in a while. Dad picked a flower for me while we were at their house and he gave it to Emma to give to me. She tried to eat it. =) Also she is starting to like sitting up more so we have started to sit her in the Bumbo seat some. Less then a month and she will be eating cereal. Emma is also trying to roll over. She can get on her side but just cannot make it all of the way over yet. My guess is that it will not be too much longer then we will really have to watch out.

Not much else has been going on. Drew keeps going with school and I keep coming to work. Hopefully Drew will be able to find a job without too much trouble when he gets out but from what he has seen so far there are not a lot of jobs available and most of what is available is for the evenings and nights. These normally pay a little better but it will definitely be an adjustment if he would be working evenings and nights.

I have Emma’s 3 month pictures on the camera. I will try to pull them off in the next couple of days and post some new pictures of her.
