Parent Teacher Conference

Emma's parent teacher conference was on Tuesday.   Mrs Kail said that Emma is the smartest student in her class.  For now she has Emma sitting at a desk with 4 boys and apparently Emma does a really good job keeping the boys in line.  The only problem Emma is really having is sitting still during floor time.  Thankfully Mrs Kail has recognized that this is just Emma so she sits at the back of the group so she does not distract the rest of the kids.  Emma can answer any question asked so she is paying attention.  I think she is just a little bored.   

We also received Emma's 1st quarter progress report while we were there.  She has mastered almost everything they are working on.  The few things that she has not mastered she is progressing.  Her reading is were they want the 1st graders to be at by Christmas.  I can definitely tell an improvement in her handwriting and she just want to know everything.

On Monday Emma's class will start breaking into reading buddies.  Mrs Kail will be working with Emma one on one because she does not have any other kids reading at Emma's level.  As things progress Emma may be moved into one of the 1st grade classes for reading.

We are so proud of our little girl.  She loves to learn and is growing up so fast.
